And many other irritating and even potentially harmful chemicals. Many of the chemicals that are in commercailly available shampoos, whether they be tea tree oil shampoo or not, are unnecessary. They are mostly there for lather and as cheap alternatives to natural solvents.

With a homemade alternative, you get a healthy natural shampoo that you can tailor to your individual needs. Whether you have oily hair, dry scalp or dandruff, you can make your shampoo fit you.
For less money than storebought.
Here is a basic recipe, that can be used for normal hair. Due to it having a 5% tea tree oil concentration it can be used as a mild dandruff remedies as well.
Basic Tea Tree Oil Shampoo
For Normal Hair
- ¼ cup water
- ½ cup liquid Castile Soap
- ½ tsp light vegetable oil
- 1½ tsp pure tea tree oil
Mix all ingredients until well combined. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Massage through wet hair and into scalp. Let stand 5 minutes. Rinse well.
This is really easy to make! Plus you eliminate a source of cancer causing chemicals from your home. A BIG PLUS!
The ingredients are readily available at a health store or herbalist. Even at a lot of big name stores you can find liquid castile soap now.
It is well worth your time to make your own and avoid using commercial shampoos. The health benefits are priceless.
