What Advantage Do Homemade Baby Wipes Have Over The Store Bought Variety?

Homemade baby Wipes are:

  • Non irritating

  • Fraction of the cost of store bought

  • Bio-degradeable

  • Chemical free

The best thing about them is…

They Work Better Than Store Bought!

Often just 1 or 2 will do the job as well as if you had used 4 or 5 of the store bought variety.

I’ve always found store bought baby wipes inefficient, often needing 4 or 5 of them to fully clean my baby’s bottom

The Reason They Are Better?

It is due to a couple of factors like:

  • Choice of paper towels

  • Quality of your tea tree oil

Choosing the right paper towel is certainly of great importance. You’ll want to choose a strong, quilted variety. This gives your homemade baby wipes the needed resistance to do the job well.

Make sure you use pure 100% tea tree oil of the Melaleuca Alternifolia. This tea tree oil will have terpinen levels over 30% and cineole levels below 10%.

Using pure tea tree oil gives you the disinfectant properties you need to ensure proper hygiene for your baby, without using any harsh chemicals to do so.

How Can You Make Them?

Making them is actually pretty easy, here’s what you do:

Ingredients:
2 - cups of warm water
    1 - tbsp white vinegar
10 - drops of tea tree oil
1 - roll of paper towels
1 - 4 cup round container with lid

Mix the tea tree oil and vinegar together, then add the 2 cups of water. Mix well.

Cut the paper towel roll in 3 equal rolls. Remove cardboard center.

Cut an “X” in the lid of the container.

Pour 1/3 of the liquid in the container and add one of the 3 rolls of paper towels.

Pull from the center of the paper towel roll and pass that through the “X” in the lid and snap the lid in place.

I would only make one container at a time of this, but keep the rest of your water mix and paper towels. Once your container is empty just pop another roll in and pour ½ of the remaining mixture in. Make sure you shake the mix first to mix up the tea tree oil and vinegar into the water.

So as you can see, making homemade baby wipes is very easy.

Factor in the benefits to your baby’s bottom and the fact that these wipes are very economical and eco-friendly and you have a winning combination.

You can even show your friends how to make them now!
