What Skin Conditions Can Tea Tree Oil treat?

Tea tree oil is such a powerful essential oil that it can treat a variety of skin conditions.

Due to it having some specific properties:

  • Easy Absorption
  • Helps rapid Healing
  • Pain relief
  • Anti-bacterial
  • Fungicidal
  • Cleans and disinfects tissue
  • Does not harm healthy tissue
  • Reduces swelling and redness

It works really well for many applications. Here I'll describe a few such conditions that can be treated using tea tree oil.

A couple of these I've had to treat myself...and believe me, it works great.

Acne Treatment

Just dab some tea tree oil right on the blemish a few times a day and the acne will quickly disappear.

Boils and Carbuncles

Tea Tree Oil can also be used for the treatment of Boils or Carbuncles by dabbing some on the boils several times a day.

Warts

Has been shown to be a very effective treatment for regular and Genital Warts.

Dandruff

Studies have shown that shampoos with 5% of Tea Tree Oil can cure dandruff.

Head Lice

Shampoo with a high enough concentration has been shown to remove head lice and PREVENT the infestation to begin with. The concentration needs to be high enough, around 5% plus.

Cold Sores

Tea Tree Oil can also be used as an effective Home Remedy for Cold Sores.

Eczema

Eczema or Atopic Dermatitis is definitely hard on adults, imagine on children. The impacts go way beyond the physical discomfort and disfiguration. Tea Tree Oil can help bring those symptoms under control.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a tough one, as there are varying degrees of the condition. I can personally vouch for it working on mild psoriasis. I have also read about people with severe cases having very good results.
Athletes Foot
Athletes foot is a parasitic fungal infection of the epidermal layer of the foot. Generally affecting individuals between the toes. I've used tea tree oil a few times to fight off this 2nd most common skin disease.

I've tried to sum up everything I could learn about these separate conditions, and I invite you to read about any of them simply by clicking on its appropriate link.
